  • CADCA LogoCADCA.org — The Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) trains local grassroots groups in effective community problem-solving strategies, teaching them how to assess their local substance abuse-related problems and develop a comprehensive plan to address them. Today, CADCA is the nation’s leading drug abuse prevention organization in the nation, representing the interests of more than 5,000 community anti-drug coalitions in the country.
  • DARE LogoDARE.org — Educational programs for fifth-, seventh-, and ninth-graders about the differences between Rx and OTC medicines, how to read OTC Drug Facts and Rx labels, the dangers of abusing medicines, and refusal skills for teens faced with offers to abuse medications. The educational lessons were developed through a partnership between D.A.R.E. America, CHPA, Abbott Laboratories, and the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association.
  • WebMD LogoWebMD — an educational collaboration by WebMD Editorial and the Consumer Healthcare Products Association to educate parents about the dangers of cough medicine abuse.
  • NASNNASN.org — The National Association of School Nurses is a nonprofit specialty nursing organization, organized in 1968 and incorporated in 1977, representing school nurses exclusively. NASN has over 14,000 members and 51 affiliates, including the District of Columbia and overseas. The mission of the NASN is to improve the health and educational success of children and youth by developing and providing leadership to advance the school nursing practice.   • TimeToTalk.org — An online campaign from the Partnership for a Drug-Free America to help parents talk with their kids about substance abuse
  • Five Moms logoFive Moms — An online campaign hosted on StopMedicineAbuse.org for parents to spread the word to other parents about cough medicine abuse and how to prevent it.
  • Preventing Teen Cough Medicine Abuse: A Parent’s Guide (also available in Spanish) — Educational brochures for parents developed by the Partnership for a Drug-Free America and CHPA; brochures can be ordered online.
